Download and Installation

We recommend that you have a dedicated server for Logsign Unified SecOps Platform.  The disk that you allocated for Logsign Unified SecOps Platform is formatted during Logsign Unified SecOps Platform installation process. The ISO file of Logsign Unified SecOps Platform software is integrated with Ubuntu 64 Bit, and Logsign Unified SecOps Platform is installed on the Ubuntu operating system. For this reason, we recommend not to install Logsign Unified SecOps Platform on an existing server as you may lose all your data. 

Important Note: The server specs must be dedicated on Logsign. ( Not Dynamic/Shared)

The following ISO files are required to install Logsign Unified SecOps Platform :

Download the online ISO version from (Requires internet connection to install Logsign);

Download the offline ISO version from (Does not require internet connection to install Logsign);

Please follow these steps to complete the installation.

 

For installation on a physical server:

  1. Burn the DVD or USB flash drive with the Logsign Unified SecOps Platform .iso file.
  2. You can boot the server via DVD disc or USB flash drive.
  3. The server will boot with the DVD or USB as a primary boot device.

 

For installation on a virtual server:

  1. Create a new virtual server with the specs which mentioned in 2.2 System Req. tab.
  2. You must give dedicated sources for vm (cpu,ram,disk)
  3. You must select thick provisioning on disk settings.
  4. You need to upload the iso file to datastore of your virtual server.
  5. You need to mount the ISO file on virtual server and select the checkbox of “Connected”.

5.  Assign the IP address of Logsign Unified SecOps Platform in Configure the Network section. Click Continue to see the next page.

6. Type the network mask and click Continue to see the next page.

7. Enter the address of the network gateway that you use on your network and click Continue to see the next page.

8. Enter the Name Server Address (DNS Address) and click Continue to see the next page.

9. Partition Disks section allows you to give your approval to perform the operations on the disk. Click Yes to approve the operations.

10. When installation process is complete, your machine automatically restarts and installs the required services/components.

11. The display shows the name of the host operating system and the IP address of your machine.

 

Open the web browser and go to https://LOGSIGN_IP_ADDRESS. You will be directed to the installation wizard. Enter Logsign Unified SecOps Platform  IP address.

 

12. Choose "I have a License Key" option if you have a license key. For the trial version of Logsign Unified SecOps Platform , choose "Start 30 Days Trial".

 

Fill in the information needed:

 

Host ID: Unique identification number of Logsign Unified SecOps Platform .

Serial Key: The serial number which is given to you when you purchased LLogsign Unified SecOps Platform. This section does not appear if you use "30 Days Trial"

 

Then, enter your Name, Last Name, Company Name, E-mail Address and Phone Number.

 

Click Activate at the right corner of the page to activate the product.

When you filled in the information under the License tab in the setup wizard, you can not return to the license registration information window, which is the previous step before the password setting screen.

 

13. Click Password to set a password for the admin user.

 

Password: Enter your web interface password.

Verify Password: Rewrite your password in this section to verify your password.

 

Click Next at the right corner of the page to move to the next step.

We recommend you to choose a strong password which consists of a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special symbols, such as punctuation. You should avoid using common, easily hacked characters and reusing the same password across multiple accounts.

 

 

14. System Password section allows you to change the password of the iadmin user, which is required to access Logsign Unified SecOps Platform via CLI.

 

Password: Enter your CLI password.

Verify Password: Rewrite your password in this section to verify your password.

15. Click Next at the right corner of the page to move to the next step.

 

Fill in the information needed in Email section:

 

Use SMTP Authentication: Mark this box to use the SMTP authenticator.

Username: Enter your username. 

Password: Enter your password.

SMTP Port: Enter the port address for SMTP authentication. It may vary depending on the email provider.

Use TLS: Mark this box if your email provider uses the TLS service.

SMTP Server: Enter the server name of the SMTP e-mail provider.

From Mail: Enter the e-mail address which will send the notifications.

Destination Mail: Enter the e-mail address which will receive the notifications.

 

  1. Click Next at the right corner of the page to move to the next step. If you prefer to configure it at another time, you can click Skip.

In Finish section, the configuration of your setup wizard will be completed.

Click Launch Logsign to be directed to the login page.
