Logsign Unified SecOps Platform can copy collected log files to a remote server via FTP or Rsync. To avoid performance loss, the transfer does not run continuously during the day. Each tool runs once a day at the run time you select, after the daily maintenance tasks have finished.
For each tool, you can choose which file types are transferred: archived logs, signed logs and configuration backups.
Click Settings -> Data Management -> Data Transfer Tools and then Add New Tool to define the access information of your remote server.
The Create Data Transfer Tool window contains the following fields:
- Name: A name for the tool.
- Type: FTP or Rsync. Rsync connects to the remote server over SSH.
- Host, Username, Password: Access information of the remote server.
- Port: Filled in as 21 for FTP and 22 for Rsync when the type is selected.
- Destination Directory: The directory on the remote server where files are written.
- Source Directory (test): Shown only for Rsync. It is used only by Test Connection; scheduled transfers always send the archive, signed log and configuration backup directories.
- Run Time: The hour of the daily transfer, between 03:00 and 23:00. The default is 05:00.
- Active: Only active tools run.
- Save Archive, Save Signed Logs, Save Config Backup: The file types to transfer.
- Create Directories: Creates the required subdirectories on the remote server.
Click Test Connection to check the access information, then click Create. The tool list shows the status of each tool and the result of its last run in the Last Run Time column.
