Introduction
You can easily manage the user's identity and add log sources faster by using user credentials, as well as update their existing password when needed.
User Credential Information
Instead of repeatedly entering the credentials while adding a new source to Logsign, you can define them once on the Credentials page and reuse them.
The password of each credential is stored encrypted in Logsign's configuration store (NATS KV).
You can create user credentials by clicking "+ User Credential" on the Settings > Integrations > Credentials page.
Usage Areas
After creating user credentials, you can apply them to your existing log sources by clicking the "Apply" button. The list in the Apply window contains sources that connect with a username and password, such as WMI, FTP, SFTP, MSSQL, Oracle and SMB share sources. API (poller) and syslog sources are not listed there.
To view the sources where a user credential is used, click the "Show References" button. This button appears only for credentials that are assigned to at least one source. A credential that is in use cannot be deleted.
When integrating a new log source, you can use your user credentials by checking the "Use Credentials" box and selecting a credential from the "User Credential" list.
